We Need Agi-taters not Spec-taters

Democrats are concerned about Trump winning the election again believing that he seeks to be a dictator, saying that “Dictators rely on propaganda, silencing the free press, manipulating laws and political positions.” I also understand the frustration people have with the government we have and why they would want to elect a disruptor. I think Trump wants to be King of the swamp and would be happy to be a dictator, but I don’t think most the people that have voted for him want that. They just want someone to clean house somehow, to get rid of the corruption. Americans are not very well educated so the details often escape them.

However, I think their loud concerns about Trump serve to cover up the fact that we already have what can be described as a corporate finance dictatorship. We have been being subjected to an intense propaganda campaign for a while now, silencing the free press, censoring truth-tellers, even censoring hearings on censorship, manipulating laws and political positions.

Do we not see that? Journalists who tell the truth today are fired, censored, or jailed and sometimes murdered. But if you do not seek the truth, you will not find it, for it will not be given to you by this system. The revolution will not be televised.

What is the first casualty of war? This country has been pursuing multiple wars for decades, including a war on the world and its people and continually seeking more war for profits. The corporate system produces psychologically engineered claims that it cares about the world but continually accelerates all the systems destroying it. (Speaking out of both sides of its mouth)

I oft repeat that it is the system that is the problem and the system is a machine designed to maximize profit and control to make more profits at any and all costs, even to the point of destroying its sources of wealth and profit, apparently. We have an exponential finance system driving a linear materials system that is reaching and surpassing planetary limits. That is because it is a machine, which has a major subconscious influence on the human mind, especially if you are benefitting from the system, but machines don’t have hearts and souls, so they don’t have any concern for life.

Are we to ignore what is going on because we don’t have a stereotypical dictator? Totalitarianism does not require a dictator; it requires unquestioning loyalty to the established system. Fascism with a smile.
The US is world-around military empire and a fascist state, that is what a corporate dominated government is. Do we need to review the characteristics of fascism?

Historian Lawrence Britt studied the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile) and found they had 14 elements in common. He calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism. These were all overt dictatorships, but they can be covert as well. I think those unable to recognize the US in these 14 characteristics of fascism are not paying attention, or are in denial, or have joined the totalitarian mass formation.

Powerful and Continuing Nationalism

Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights

Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of “need.” The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, and long incarcerations of prisoners.

Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause

The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, anti-vaxers, Putin puppets etc…

Supremacy of the Military

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

Rampant Sexism

The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation. Here the US is promoting a misogynistic transgenderism to totally subjugate women, perhaps an attempt to drive them back into rigid traditional gender roles.

Controlled Mass Media

Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation or by sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Government censorship and secrecy, especially in war time, are very common. Our government and every industry including the mass media is in service to and controlled by the corporate financial system.

Obsession with National Security

Fear of hostile foreign powers is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

Religion and Government are Intertwined

Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government’s policies or actions.

Protection of Corporate Power

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

Suppression of Labor Power

Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts

Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

Obsession with Crime and Punishment

Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

Rampant Cronyism and Corruption

Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

Fraudulent Elections

Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections. “Money is the governing factor.”

We don’t need to demonize people or dehumanize our world, we have a monstrous demonic system doing that, which I hope we can focus on and terminate before it terminates us all. Who among us is dehumanizing others? When I criticize the system do people take it personally? I think anyone who does so needs to reevaluate their position and get back in touch with their humanity through nature.

There is research that shows how the system separates us from nature and one another. As RFK jr. said the other day; “God talks to human beings through many vectors, wise people, organized religions, the Great Books of the religions, through art, music and poetry but nowhere with such grace and joy as through Creation. When we destroy nature we diminish our capacity to sense the divine.” A machine has no awareness, no sense of the divine and no desire for one either. We need to unplug the money machine, recycle any parts worth keeping and junk the rest, then get a new one that works for everyone.
