Jubilees were a device employed to get their economy going again when debt had gotten so great nothing could happen. It was not done out of any altruistic impulse, it was to allow them to continue their usury scam that was making them so rich, rather than change the system to a debt-free money system. It was a temporary good used to continue the unjust system.
