No evolution did not, it was the psychological consequences of allowing a monetary system based on usury; the abuse of monetary authority for personal gain. Only a few became selfish capitalists but such a system retards cooperation and benefits those tiny few. Usury money is a system that is metastasized throughout society. Efforts to break free, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Iran, Venezuela etc. are met with violence.
