The word Capitalism literally means "money system" so rejecting that makes sense. However, it is a system that does not really issue money, which is a free medium of exchange. Instead issues credit as money. The power elite control the world with this pervesion of money issued as interest-bearing debt. (usury) Indeed, people reject what they have never known. You reject a free medium of exchange as societies distributive mechanism in favor of a centralized technocratic distribution ssystem. I lived in such a community for 10 years, you should try it sometime. It is an ideology based on questionable beliefs and false assumptions. As Carl Sagan said, "One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. "
Ideoplgies are beliefs embraced like religion. We must here make a clear distinction between belief and faith, because, in general practice, belief has come to mean a state of mind which is almost the opposite of faith. Belief, as I use the word here, is the insistence that the truth is what one would “lief” or wish it to be. The believer will open his mind to the truth on the condition that it fits in with his preconceived ideas and wishes. Faith, on the other hand, is an unreserved opening of the mind to the truth, whatever it may turn out to be. Faith has no preconceptions; it is a plunge into the unknown. Belief clings, but faith lets go. In this sense of the word, faith is the essential virtue of science, and likewise of any religion that is not self-deception.
I understand the confusion around money and many want to reject it becasue the current system is so bad. Money is both the problem and the solution, it should be recognized as the baby and not the bathwater.
