We don't have a willing government because it is bought with money, which is the governing factor. Any government that does not issue the money is controlled by those who do. It is another version of 'he who owns the gold rules" which pretty much defines this civilization. There have been wonderful examples of money serving the people but monetary history have been suppressed so we aren't aware, most aren't even aware of where money comes from or that it is a system. There were great progressive movements post civil war until 1913 demanding that government issue the money and do something about the banks ripping everyone off because they controlled every industry, as the Pujo Committee investigation proved.

We will need to elect a government specifically to pass the already written legislation that would change this money system and ban the banks from creating all the money. Money should not be a private for-profit business, it is a public obligation. As Frederick Soddy wrote: "To allow money to become a source of revenue to private issuers is to create, first, a secret and illicit arm of the government and, last, a rival power strong enough ultimately to overthrow all other forms of government."

We have our work cut out for us, unfortunately too many don't know what that is. The Green Party has this in its platform but is in disarray due to identity politics and can't seem to organize a campaign for democratic change. We cannot tax our way out of this mess, we will need the Sovereign Money Power to do that. This is important because it will also shift the mindset from the obsession with personal profit to community care. monetaryalliance.org
