Those same companies got $4.4 trillion in taxpayer support – a 750% return on their investment. In fact, the banks learned long ago, as far back as the 1600s, that by far their most profitable investments were in governments. The banking system via macroeconomic policy is a parasite on the world economy. Whether or not people are aware of the details they can tell something is not right and that it affects them negatively.
